November Stargazing & Astrophotography

Come along and discover the splendours of the Kaikōura night sky on Friday 24th November 2023.

Kaikōura Astronomers invite you and your whanau to join us for the last free monthly community stargazing evening of 2023! We’ll have the traditional telescope and the EVscope.

To celebrate the end of a great year of stargazing we’re having an astrophotgraphy twist – bring your camera or phone and have a good. You can check out our quick tips in advance if you have time.

Time: Come anytime from 9pm until late. Please park up and walk in through the front gates and into the back area of the school where we will be set up. There are toilets and a kitchen to make hot drinks.

Where: Hapuku School, 596 Kincaid Road, Hapuku

Top Tips: Dress warm as it will still get cold. We highly recommend checking out our stargazing tips section before you come for the best experience on the night.

Weather: If the weather is looking poor we will postpone to the evening. Keep a eye on our facebook page for updates.
