One Year Celebration – Kaikōura’s Night Sky Stargazing Evening

Come along on Friday, September 12th from 7–9pm to Fyffe House and help us celebrate something truly special – our one year anniversary of Kaikōura being recognised as an International Dark Sky Sanctuary.

This free evening is all about bringing the community together under our amazing night skies.

You’ll be able to:
Look through telescopes with the Moana Skies team
Hear star stories and learn how to navigate the night sky
Watch JWPK Photography in action capturing the night, with tips for amateur astrophotographers
Try out a VR headset and experience space in a whole new way
Gather around the fire pits and enjoy the atmosphere – you might be lucky and toast a marshmallow

Whether you’re a keen stargazer, an aspiring astrophotographer, or just curious to see what our incredible skies have to offer, this will be a relaxed, family-friendly evening for everyone to enjoy.

We’re so grateful to Fyffe House for opening their grounds to the community and making events like this possible. To help them continue hosting special nights like these at no cost, we encourage a small koha (donation) on the evening.

Bring your whānau, bring your questions, and join us for a night of wonder as we celebrate Kaikōura’s skies together. See you there.
