Come along to Fyffe House on Sunday 20th July from 6pm for a relaxed, family-friendly experience exploring the wonders above Kaikōura. Following the postponement of our Matariki gathering, we’re excited to bring the community together for a free evening under the stars — celebrating our skies, our stories, and each other.

Stargazing Station
- Multiple telescopes set up
- See planets, star clusters, and deep sky objects through our professional gear
Storytelling & Sky Tours
- Ongoing naked-eye night sky guidance with a laser pointer
- Drop-in storytelling sessions throughout the evening — no set times, just gather when a group forms
Astrophotography Corner
- Live astrophotography setup for those interested in the technical side
- Image showcase and (weather-permitting) a chance for a long-exposure star photo with guests
ATMOSPHERE & COMFORT
- Fire Pits – Thanks to Kaikoura District Council for warmth and ambience
- Minimal Lighting – Red path markers where needed; otherwise, it’s all about keeping it dark
- Seating – A few picnic tables (BYO picnic blanket & chairs)
- Hot Drinks – We will have hot choc available
