April Community Stargazing Evening

Come along to this free family friendly evening from 6pm on Sunday 7th April (after the clocks have changed) to celebrate International Dark Sky Week 2024.

Kaikōura Astronomers invite you and your whanau to join us for a free community stargazing evening from the Hapuku School grounds. Due to the incredible support of Destination Kaikōura and the Kaikōura Lions we now have a tradtional telescope with some new equipment and a fantastic eVscope and two touch pads which you can use to control the telescope to view objects of specific interest in the night sky. This is a very interactive experience!

Time: Come anytime from 6pm until late.

Where: Hapuku School, 596 Kincaid Road, Hapuku. Just park out the front and come in through the front gate. We will be there around the back!

Top Tips: Dress warm!! Coat, hat, gloves etc. We highly recommend checking out our stargazing tips section before you come for the best experience on the night.

Weather: If the weather is looking poor we will postpone to the evening. Keep a eye on our facebook page for updates.
